Big Dreams

Tonight when we got home from dinner, John was carrying Em and she was pointing up to the stars then she saw the moon and said, "Someday I want to go to the moon!" Hmm, could she grow up to be an astronaut?

Build a "Friend"

So today we went to Mayfair. I've been wanting to take Em to the Build a Bear workshop for some time and figured why not today?! She had a blast! Emily picked out a Bunny and named her Miss Bunny :) It was so cute watching her help stuff her bunny and give it a bath. The thing that took the longest was picking out the clothes. Emily was having so much fun begging me for every outfit and accessory imaginable. Look at her and the final product: "Miss Bunny"!

Pleeease can I do a project?

Today Em's Best Buddy in the Whole Wide World, as she likes to refer to him as, Aiden came over for the day. It's so cute when they get together and run all over the place. Well Em was begging me to do a project so I pulled out a few things that I was using for my kindergarten class and threw something together for them. I gave them each a large paper heart doily and tissue paper squares. I let Em use the glue stick herself to glue the pieces on. She loves the simplest things and is so proud of all her projects. She couldn't wait to hang it up on the front door and insisted that Aiden hang his up too. I came up with the idea of hanging her artwork on the door using clothespins that I attached magnents to. That's how we displayed the Christmas cards we received this year and thought that we'll continue with her artwork. Here she is busy at work. And the final masterpieces.....

Cold Days

So school was canceled yesterday and today for the frigid temperatures we've been having. Yesterday was a family day since John was off too. I put together a project for Em and she absolutely loved it! Check her out hard at work. Her snowman looks great. She is definitely a good gluer. She is so proud of her snowman. When she finished she raced downstairs to grab John so he could see it!

Then today I decided to venture out with her. A few weeks ago, Em accidentally dropped her piggy bank (the one she painted at Fired Up last August.) So I decided to take her back to make a new one. John wanted us to get a bigger bank but Em really wanted a fish one so that's what she got. Em piked out what colors she wanted. She wanted her fish to be green so I painted the base coat for her and then she went to town. Check out the mouth. She painted the lips and smile all on her own without any prompting. And when she was done, I did the finishing touches by adding the eyes. It is so cute I can't wait to see it next week when I can pick it up.I also used today as a way to get caught up on my blogging. It's been a while since I've put anything up. The thing is, I usually use the laptop upstairs and write my posts and then save them until I have time to upload some pictures on my PC. I've really got to get better and doing that on a regular basis so they don't all pile up on me. ;) Happy Reading!

My little Jammer

So Em loves music! Sure she loves to play instruments and sing children's songs but there's 2 other songs that have to be turned up if they come on the radio.
1st one: In the Ayer by Flo Rider, she loves this song. She sits in her seat with her hands in the air like she's "raisin the roof". Cracks me up. Oh, and her singin....My oh, my. Here's a pic of her doing it. I had to pull the car over to get this shot. If you don't know the song, here's a link:

Her other favorite is Leona Lewis, Bleeding Love. This one she loves to sing but you have to listen closely to her. Em believes that she's sayin, "I keep waiting, keep keep waiting." instead of bleeding. Which to me is much better for a two year old.

Christmas

Christmas flew by this year. Em got way too much between all of our family and Santa. Let's see: preschool puzzles, wooden train set, doctor kit, Snap & Style Doll, Animal counters with sorting bowls, Cabbage Patch baby, baby diapers & bibs, Micky Mouse Clubhouse, keyboard, lots of preschool learning games (her favorite is a listening bingo game), magnetic letter desk, Melissa & Doug Band in a Box, M&D magnetic dolls (just like paper dolls but they're wooden and the clothes stick to them, Very Cool!), art books and supplies.

Here we are on Christmas day. (We even have Tank in the picture!)

Mountain Climber

Today we went to Monkey Joe's in Brookfield
(www.monkeyjoes.com ) with a friend and her two boys. We all had such a great time. It's an indoor play place that's full of inflatable bounce houses and slides. Em was nervous climbing up the slides at the beginning so I would go behind her to make sure she didn't fall. After just a few times she was scaling those steps like nobody's business.

Christmas 2008

This year we spent Christmas eve and day up north by John's family. Em loved hangin out with her Auntie Katie and Uncle Vinny! They are so good at taking the time to play with her. It's crazy to me that it doesn't seem that long ago that they were Em's age. Here's a pic of them all together on Christmas eve. Here's Em playing with her new doctor kit with Uncle Vinny.

Another funny....

Yesterday we did a little shopping as a family. We finished up at the outlets and then ran to one more store for John. As I'm buckling Em in her seat to leave she says "You're drivin me crazy Dad!" while pretending to turn a steering wheel with her hands. Seriously, I have no idea where she gets this stuff from!
